Just went in for a quick beer before catching a train, so unfortunately didn't get time to eat.
It was a busy Saturday lunchtime so we struggled to get to the bar, but service was good.Good choice of real ales, which were well kept.
Nice split level pub. Good atmosphere.Well worth a visit.

Stopped off here on the way to Manchester after reading some reviews. Friendly service at the bar and food very reasonably priced as quite a few things were £5 - £6 whereas similar dishes in other pubs can be £2 - £3 dearer. The pub was very quiet so there was not much atmosphere but that may be different in the evening. The menu choice is not huge but there are a few specials to bulk it up. The Steak and Ale pie was huge and good value at £5.50 coming with potato wedges and peas (mushy if you like them or garden if you prefer). I had fish pie that was very tasty but a little smaller for £5.75 - came with salad and garlic bread. Seemed to be home cooked food rather than something out of a packet. All in all, a good experience and I would revisit and can therefore recommend.

Without a doubt that best pub in Walsall town centre. A warm, friendly atmosphere and great service is all provided here and of course, beer and food. The food is simple, affordable and hearty very much what a pub should be. A new favourite of mine.

We was looking for a pub that has real ales on tap that we could take our friends to as we was all visiting Walsall and wanted somewhere local where we could meet. We was not disappointed. This is a lovely old and very friendly pub, we didn't eat here as we had already eaten. Would definitely return here next time we are in Walsall.

We went to the Black Country Arms in Walsall on a Saturday lunchtime. It stands halfway up a hill on a wide street which gives the building a nice, almost aloof feeling of watching the world go by even though it is close to a busy shopping area. One could watch Sky Sport TV or find a quiet spot as there is plenty of room in several seating areas on three levels. Decor is classy, clean and comfortable 'designer pub'. They have a good choice of real ales and a couple of ciders for good measure. The staff were particularly friendly and seemed to enjoy working there. We each ordered a variation on traditional black country fare ie faggots and peas and liver and onions. Food arrived nicely presented in a sort of 'nouvelle cuisine' style on square plates and was hot and tasty. At just over a fiver each the food was excellent value. Beer was good too. Overall I could not think of a better way to spend an hour in Walsall after a hard morning's shopping!

If you like ya ale , you'll love this place , nice comfortable pub , mainly for couples , middle aged people , but all welcome . This is a real ale pub , usually serving around 10 to 15 different types . Plus ciders . Very friendly in here , there were 5 couples of us , all in our 40,s to 50,s age group , had a great night chatting in nice surroundings , also been in here with the lads only and just as good a time . A definate call when drinking in Walsall !

Located just off the Market Square, The Black Country Arms has it just about right when it comes to a great local - it's women friendly, it has a huge range of fantastic real ales on draught, the bar snacks are really reasonable and filling (we recommend the exceptional curries and the Black Country speciality Grey Paes) and it's built over three levels which gives it a quirky, Dickensian feel. We've been to the quizzes and live music have been involved with the comedy nights and Kim and the staff have always been helpful and friendly. It's also one of the few pubs I've been happy to go in alone for a coffee and to read! Well deserved Walsall pub of the Year award!

Friendly pub with nice traditional decor and 16 hand pumps.
I had a really lovely 5.0% Czech Pilsner, Kruśovice Imperial served in a 2/3rd's glass. The menu looks good traditional local food which seems cheap..we did not eat here this time but last summer had a great curry here so am assuming the food would be good too.
Definitely my favourite pub in Walsall

Myself and my partner held our reception at the Black Country Arms. Kim (Manager) couldn't do enough to help, very friendly and helpful with all aspects of our requirements adapting very well to our needs. The food was outstanding and plenty catered for the amount of guests. So if you are looking for a venue to hold your event on a mezzanine floor then by all means please give this some consideration as this was the best service from an establishment in a long while as customer service in most places seems to have dropped. Not here they make you feel welcome, the service is personal and all the staff are helpful and friendly. Thank you Black Country Arms especially to Kim. Other than this generally the menu looks great with a range of food available and at good prices too with a range of drinks to suit your taste.

Cannot speak highly enough of the service here. Ordered a round of drinks at the bar earlier today, then went and sat down. Ten minutes later the barmaid came over to say that I had accidentally been overcharged, and she gave me the correct change. Both my partner and I were so impressed with her honesty. Thank you Black Country Arms. Not only a bostin pint but lovely service too!!

This public house is I believe the best in the area, in many ways, a massive choice of differing drinks, great food, good atmosphere, many events, support for local charities, very efficient and friendly staff, plus the driving force of a great licensee.

We visited Walsall to see the museums/new Art Gallery. We went into the Black Country Arms after doing the market. Don't expect anything truly vintage or trendy but this is a very nice, friendly pub and a welcoming building with lots of nice nooks and crannies. The staff are lovely. The food is very good value and the cheese and potato pie was excellent. We enjoyed our lunches and were impressed. There are lots of beers on offer
