We've visited the Ivy House on several occasions and experienced nothing but excellent food and service.
Had the Sunday lunch a few times and it's genuinely one of the best Sunday roasts I've ever had eating out. Food arrives in no time at all, and the portion sizes are perfect. Our waitress was very good, nothing was too much trouble.
The restaurant itself is very clean and has a very warm homely feeling to it. Excellent beer garden with exquisite views for when it warms up a little.
To summarize The Ivy House is a fantastic pub/restaurant for any occasion with excellent food and service.
Definitely look forward to my future visits.

Had the Xmas meal, beautiful , we had salmon, homemade soup and mushrooms to start, good portions , 3 of us had the beef, saving ourselves for Xmas for turkey, perfect all the trimmings , the puds looked glorious but too stuffed, followed by coffee and a sneaky mince pie!!the place as such a good atmosphere and the young staff can’t do enough, a gem, i will try and sneak another meal in before Xmas !!do recommend

Lynne had Soup of the day (Tomato) followed by Faggots & Mash but had mixed vegetables instead of mushy peas.
Gill had Halloumi Fries followed by Ivy House Burger.
Julia had Beetroot & Charcoal Prawns followed by Mushroom Risotto with Roasted Vegetables.
Excellent food and an excellent service ….. nothing was too much trouble.
I plan to bring my husband in January …. we can celebrate my birthday

Overall the visit was good. Food was excellent at a fair price. Only let down was the slowness of the service. Considering that it was quiet we had to wait a considerable time for our main course and also between our mains and getting our desserts.
However with the good value for money it would not put me off going again.

We booked a table for 7 for our moms 80th birthday. We had a lovely table in the corner of the restaurant. Our food was absolutely delicious! All plates came out together & the food was warm & extremely tasty-none of your chain pub food here. 2 of us had the minted lamb steaks which were perfectly cooked, 2 had the fish & chips, which was enormous! Mom had the scampi which she really enjoyed, another had the risotto -also very good & our daughter wolfed down a very substantial steak and ale pie. The staff very kindly bought moms cake over & sang Happy Birthday with us & provided a knife & plates for us to use. A lovely experience & will definitely be back.

Had a lovely family meal here on 4th November. Cant fault the quality or value of the meals. Staff were friendly and attentive. The only suggestion I would possibly make is for them to offer more toddler appropriate sized meals (we had 3 toddlers under 2 with us) and when asked for children's meals they came with miniature adult meals which would probably be more suited to 8yr old plus as they were extremely generous kids portions at the least.
Already planning a date night in a couple of weeks with just myself and OH as we were so impressed with everything about the place and staff

Quirky independently run pub - such a refreshing change from the bland chain options.
Friendly welcome, and soon seated at our (pre-booked) table. Menu offered plenty of options, was very nicely served in a fresh modern dining room. Sharing platter and baked Camembert to start - olives were particularly good. Pies are freshly cooked and were also very tasty.Fishnchips were excellent - batter was crisp and fresh haddock a perfect texture. Didn't have room to test the puds, but those coming out to others did look tempting.
We had a great time, and will certainly return.

Having used the Ivy House regularly for a number of years now, I am sorry to have to say that the change of ownership has not improved the standard, in fact it hasn't even matched it. This last visit was our third since the change of hands, the first was a shambles of a visit, having booked 4 months in advance to arrive and find no table available, the second we were served frozen vegetables, sloppy mashed potatoes, and over cooked beef. Our third and this will be our last visit, was for a Sunday lunch, the food was not fresh, the service was very slow. Not once during our three visits were we asked how the meals were, if you're looking for fairly ordinary pub grub then it's okay. Just a pity the standards haven't passed to the new owners.

Booked Sunday lunch today for myself and daughter as the hubby and son in law at the Wolves match. We both went for the turkey option. The meal was well presented and hot. Most enjoyable, staff polite and service was quite quick considering it was a busy lunchtime. Deserts followed, Apple pie and cream for me, yummy and daughter had chocolate fudge cake also with cream, which she said was fab. We will definitely go again.

Could not fault any part of the service and meal. Our party consisted of 13 and each course was served with no one having to wait. Serving staff were really attentive and the food was delicious, the sea bass in particular was amazing. Would not hesitate to recommend and will definitely be visiting in the near future.

Portion size was great too. Eleven of us and all had only good things to say!!

Saturday Lunch time we were shown to a table to the rear of the pub over looking the fields and the beer garden very pleasant out look it makes you forget your on a mail road. The service was good and the girls behind the bar and in the restaurant were really friendly.
We ordered the food and after about 20 mins the food arrived it was obviously cooked to order as it was piping hot. The plate looked lovely and the salad was fresh. The restaurant is basic the food is really good i think with some tlc this could be a really lovely place to continue to come back to.Would return and would recommend for a pub lunch.

Came here Saturday evening with my husband and daughter for a meal. I’ve visited a couple of times before and only had great experiences so thought I’d leave a review. Had prawns and halloumi for starter- both beautifully presented and delicious- then gammon with eggs, the ivy house burger and sausage and mash for mains. Absolutely delicious! All cooked beautifully, can tell it’s all homemade and fresh. The only problem was, we were way too full when we left with the massive portions! Really feels like a family run, friendly and homely place. Can’t rate it enough!

Visited The Ivy House for an early Father’s Day meal as an extended family.Recently taken over by new owners and this was our first visit since their take over.7 of us ate two courses and certainly were not left hungry. The food is generous and well presented with a good range of choice from the daily menu and specials. We had several bottles of wine which were very reasonably priced.Look forward to our next visit.

have been there on an evening , and also on a lunch time . Whilst i was happy with the food , on both occasions i was let down by the poor quality of the cask ales. On my latest visit , my partner and myself both had the burger chips and salad. That was fine. We are both real ale drinkers . Our first pints tasted ok , but were very cloudy, but it was drinkable . When i went back to the bar to buy the second round i was told that the keg was empty, so i sampled the remaining two cask bitters . One tasted awful , the other tasted slightly less awful. Keeping a good pint of cask takes a lot of TLC . If you can't give it that kind of care , you should stick to selling Nitro-keg . I spent £13 for four pints of ale that lunchtime ,i left feeling somewhat bitter. Excuse the pun . The only other thing i was unhappy about was that we were sat outside in the garden . We were half way through our meals when we noticed a dog turd on the grass by our table . I am a dog lover , and i think it is good to allow dogs in pubs and in pub gardens . But perhaps a bit more diligence on behalf of the staff on this subject.

We wanted somewhere to go and eat that was not rowdy.
Being dog friendly was also very important. We had good food and drink and the dog got a lot of attention, we sat outside in the lovely evening sun and looked over the fields whilst having a good meal and a chat. Great.

Enjoyed our trip to the Ivy House Pub today. A very warm welcome from the friendly and helpful staff. Good choice from the menu and a relaxed restaurant area overlooking the garden and countryside.
