Really tranquil place with play areas for children, boating and feeding ducks. Opens until late and later on in the year is arboretum lights which are great fun for people with young families.

I had not been to Walsall Arboretum in many years, in fact prrobably 25+ years ago on one bonfire night with my sons...
Local to Walsall Town, 40p an hour parking at several near carparks Or a £3.00 West midlands day ticket that gets you anywhere in the West midlands, from when the buses start to when they finish on day of purchase on bus....
I safely crossed the roads at the x junction because yeah I decided to use West midlands travel.
I got my bus to Walsall, strolled up the town, past the gala baths an saw the entrance to the park.
Well, I was surprised at how vast the park was, well cared for, miles of pathway, café, toilets, plenty of picnic areas, plenty of benches everywhere,
Ponds, streams, parks,
I eventually took a rest break, went into the café, ordered a fresh filter coffe and a hot sandwich. Then freshened up in the bathroom and again I continued strolling along.
Everyone I met, was friendly, said hello.
A place for all age groups and all abilities. Sooooo relaxing and enjoyable whole day.

A beautifully maintained, calm and picturesque walk or place to play with children. Well worth a visit and an attraction we are very lucky to have in Walsall. It's a great place to walk the dog and has lovely areas to explore.

I have been attending the Walsall Arboretum Parkrun regularly on a Saturday morning. It is a pleasure to run around, clean and picturesque. It is a place where you can enjoy a pleasant walk around very beautiful surroundings, with the added bonus of an excellent café servicing very tasty food. The breakfasts are particularly good.

My old farm house overlooks the arboretum, I moved there ages 25, the running route around the park is excellent and if you want to challenge yourself there are steep hills to sprint up to get a good workout. 5 years after this I then had babies and took them to the park every day to feed the ducks, the park is really clean, lots of free facilities, basket ball, tennis, lido in the summer, the park, exercise areas etc and now a beautiful cafe. I have since moved to Worcestershire which does have lovely parks but my happiest memories arebof the Walsall arboretum. I came back in November for a visit with my dogs and was very impressed at how much money has been spent, it’s definitely worth a day out.

Such a beautiful place. Very relaxing to watch the ducks and swan swimming in the pool. There are also live bands to watch and events on bank holidays which are great for the kids. There's a nice cafe but can get very busy. Plus theres a park and nice splash pad for the kids to play in the water. It's great for kids of all ages.

I visit the Arboretum twice each week to meet up with the Voices Entwined choir at the cafe/visitor centre & the staff are really nice & helpful. I park outside & walk through passed the lake & amusing wildlife. It's all very relaxing, even in the rain & it's good to see parents out with their children. After my last 2 hour session with the singers, I felt so alive. PS the snacks are OK too.

Excellent food and good service given here .... we had a 3 year old with us...who was given a balloon and colouring things which kept her content till the food arrived but we were let down by our food coming out quite a while before hers so we started giving her bits off our plates Sony the time hers arrived she was almost full from our plates so wasted the cost of her meal

Every Wednesday a group of us get together to have a walk around the lake- so peaceful and beautiful in the midst of busy traffic roads. Then a lovely snack and drink in the visitor centre.

It is an extensive area which is well kept and with lots to see. It is well laid out and well looked after. There is an enclosed children`s play area which is good, and monitored by an attendant, and a vast open area in the extension of the arboretum where dogs can run off their leads if you so wish.
The visitors` centre has indoor and outdoor seating and part of the outdoor is under cover. Dogs are welcome to sit in the outdoor area while owners enjoy a cup of coffee and a cake. The view from there is of the lake in the distance, and it is all very pleasant.

Great place to get away from the noise. Large lake with boats and pedal swans and a great place to walk the dog. Also has large areas for kids to play. Various activities throughout the year.

This is a beautiful haven that, to me, is the flagship location of Walsall. It is a serene spot & has beautiful, varied scenery. It is great for walks, runs, games, picnics, reading & many other activities. It has a large lake, big green areas, a large kids play area, tennis courts, ping pong tables, a basketball court, skate park & probably more that l can't recall! It also has a bandstand area that has a regular series of music events held there. All in all, this is my favourite place in Walsall.

Recently decided that this would be a good place to take our young grandchildren to cool off in the water play area they have and found out what a great park this is and what a valuable asset it is to the people of Walsall. The water play area is situated with in the fenced play area and is full of water sprays and tipping buckets connected by very shallow streams and without any depth to the water making it relatively safe even for the smallest. The rest of the play area has the usual array of swings and climbing frames the larger of these being in the shape of a pirate ship. With an attendant on duty while the water area is working the local council obviously make a great effort with this play area, as they seem to do with the rest of the arboretum. The café in within the arboretum is a great place to stop for refreshments after a visit to the play area, the service is very good and the range and quality of it’s servings is very good for this type of establishment, it just a pity that the opening times are so restrictive.
Overall a very good park area that is a tribute the Walsall Council, however one very disappointing aspect is the litter dropped by visitors, on two separate visits I noticed three counts of used nappies being abandoned under bushes in the park as well as other litter scattered around the park. Attempts EE obviously made to clean this up making this a tribute to the local council and a very serious rebuke for the citizens of Walsall who do not seem to appreciate what they have.

My Husband and I had a day out recently at Walsall Arboretum and although the weather wasn't altogether fine we had a lovely day. We actually went for the open air concert by The Black Country Beatles which we really enjoyed. They performed in the Bandstand and we were able to sit on the stone steps in front of it. There is a large play park with toilet facilities and lots of space for cycling or scooters and skateboards or just run around. The cafe and visitor centre seemed relatively new which served hot drinks and snacks.

I have been going to the arboretum since I was a kid,not changed that much.the kids area is ok but can get quite full on sunny days and bank holidays.not much for adults to do there are boats you can hire but that's about it.i do miss the lights they used to have which rivalled Blackpool ,but to me it's just one big park for the kids to play.
