I love walking my dog in the rural tree field and woods part past the main car park known as the Arboretum Extension, part of which was previously used as a golf course. Acres of space, lots of different routes and paths to explore that give you a "being in the countryside" feeling.
Walsalls version of Sutton Park on a smaller scale.

The main part of the Arboretum and play area is well worth a visit especially with children. However most people won't know about the Arboretum Extension, it has always been a great place for walking and exploring but a few years ago the council golf course was abandoned and planted over with thousands of trees, it's wonderful now but a word of warning take a smartphone with maps in case you get lost, a good pair of walking boots and take care not to lose the dog. If you find the steps up to the canal turn right and at the bridge turn right and follow the path back to the car park.

Lovely garden and ponds to walk around. My only complaint as I was in a wheelchair, it would be so much better if the edge's of the grass were trimmed as the paths are quite narrow. Also the dropped kerbs are a bit of a joke and we had to walk along the road of the car park to get to the pathway
