Great place for family and kids.

Lovely place to visit for a couple of hours. We have a good walk or cycle & out son loves the park. Love parkrun on a Saturday morning. Cafe is ok but a bit pricey for what you get.

Love this park except of the big plastic swans. I prefer the old boats keeping in with the traditional look. There are pebbles to find aswell as poems and geocaching to entertain you aswell as the beautiful wildlife. I can't wait to see the little baby swans....

We visited on Boxing Day and it was lovely to see the park so busy. Not a single piece of litter, park keepers working hard and everyone enjoying a lovely day and park. Lots of things for everyone to do, we will be back.

After a walk we had a lovely breakfast at the cafe- a good variety of food available. Lots of bacon, egg, sausages, and beans. And lovely toasts too

We went here on a Sunday morning and parked at their free car park at the far end. The walk was good amount, probably took us an hour, and we did stop and start too. It’s best to go here in the Autumn when the leaves have turned brown, it’s very picturesque. I think they have a few events here throughout the year too

we visited bonfire night weekend, it was peaceful and quiet. it was our first vist. We will be going back.

Took my children there 30+ years ago. A mundane park really, true to an arboretum that fulfilled it's promise as a park with trees. Fun for the kids to run and play, whilst sampling the delights of the miniature railway line and the lake.
I don't know the exact date, or even exact lottery funding, but just a few years back there was a grant that was wisely used to transform this park into an unrivaled place of beauty and a joy for the local community that could be enjoyed by all, for free.

These days we savour the joys of the Arboretum as dog walkers. Our Jack Russells' can run free for the most part, although there are restrictions around the lake in the breeding season.
There is a newly built Visitors' Centre, providing coffee and snacks (great chip butties). As dog owners we can sit outside and enjoy refreshments whilst our dogs (we're half way round the perimeter at this point) take a well earned rest in the shade underneath the trestle table with a drink of water.
So, moving on we transverse the other side of the lake. There are Canada Geese. Swans, Ducks, Moorhens and whopping great fish that can be seen beneath the clear waters. Have to apologise here as I'm really not an expert in aquatic life, above or below, so there may well be other species.
Then, there is the Pavilion, uphill and to your right. This has been wonderfully painted in the style of fairground colours. May sound a bit naff but it really works, especially given the arched aisle festooned with flowers and flower borders in the summer that leads up to the entrance.
Moving on, there is the children's' area. A general playground with water features, and further still is the skateboarding area - always well attended whatever the weather, kids playground to the right after this that originally had wooden obstacles, now replaced with plastic structures (Health & Safety?)
Finally, and most poignant of all, there is a Garden of Reflection. This is dedicated to one of Walsall's fallen soldiers, father of two, Corporal Jonathan Horne, from the 2nd Battalion The Rifles, who at 27 died in Helmand Province on July 10, 2009, . He was killed in an explosion while helping fellow soldiers who had been injured in an earlier bomb blast.

I went for a nice summers day walk, there were loads of kids in the play area having fun. In such a large space I was able to enjoy my own peace and quiet, followed by a nice coffee in the cafe

Well worth a visit

Lovely park Plenty of space to walk with the kiddies. Nice play area but it gets crowded at weekends. Quieter in the week but keep away from the truants smoking weed near the pool and bandstand. Needs more security around there. Beautiful lake area with wildlife.
