On Saturday 26th October at the Baitul Muqueet Mosque, 22 Vicarage Place, Walsall WS1 1NA there are celebrations commemorating ther 100th Annivbersary of the Caliph`s historic visit.
One hundred years ago His Holiness Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad, the Second Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, embarked on a historic tour from India to the UK.
It was the first time that a Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community had come to the UK.
As part of that tour the Caliph delivered a keynote address at the Conference of Some Living religions in the Empire in London and, on 19th October 1924, he laid the foundation stone for The Fazal Mosque - the first mosque in London.
On saturday 26th October a special celebration will be held at the mosque in Walsall and all are invited. The event runs 6pm - 8pm with an exhibition and presentation.
