‘YOUNG PEOPLE’S ART COMPETITION.’
An exciting venture for WSA is our ‘Young People’s Art Competition’.
This month we shall be contacting various schools in Walsall and surrounding areas to let them know about the competition and invite them to take part.
We are very aware of the curriculum constraints and the fact that some schools will not have the time to enter so we are also inviting individual pupils to enter work produced in their own time. Works submitted will be judged by the society and prizes awarded accordingly. We plan for the prize giving to take place at Eastertime 2020.
We already have a prestigious gallery willing to exhibit the main winners and art suppliers have been approached for sponsorship.
With the decline of art provision in our schools at the moment we need to do something to keep creativity going.
It will also be a means of introducing the society to a younger generation.
