Since releasing his first poetry and short story collection 'Asleep at 3AM' (a nod to his partner, and fellow poet, Leanne Cooper's debut collection 'Awake at 3AM') Walsall writer and poet, Anthony J Ball, has gone from strength to strength, with his work being published in several poetry, and fiction anthologies.
Last year, Anthony was one of several writers to be selected to appear in the short story anthology 'Born in a Black Cab' which was put together and published by up-and-coming publishers C.A.A.B Publishing. The submission guidelines stated that the setting of these stories must be the inside a black cab taxi, and Anthony delivered a unique and impressive take on this with his story ‘John and Joan’, which tells the story of an elderly gentleman named John, whose journey ends with an unexpected twist.
C.A.A.B Publishing have recently released their second anthology 'One More for the Road' in January of this year, and yet again Anthony's work has been successfully chosen, with his story 'Blackthorn Road' featuring in this collection. It is safe to say that as brilliant as his last offering was, this story is even better with more incredible twists that Anthony's fictional works are quickly becoming known for.
Anthony J Ball is currently working on his as-of-yet untitled second collection of poetry and short stories, as well as trying his hand at writing a children's book! Watch this space for more information on his progress, as we can all expect great things from this up-and-coming writer.
