Use a Gas Safe engineer!
Every Gas Safe engineer is issued with an identification card, the card has:
Licence number
Photo of the engineer
Expiry date
ALWAYS check with Gas Safe that the engineer is registered.
The rear of the card states which appliances the engineer can work on, some engineers can only work on cookers or fires it depends on what qualification they hold, it will also state whether the engineer can work on natural gas or LPG or both.
