After a busy week in Parliament I was delighted to make it back to the constituency in time to meet with Year 3 pupils at Cooper & Jordan School and their teacher Mr Bromwich, and see at first-hand how they have successfully raised £1,000 for the charity Special Effect and increased awareness of the work to support disabled gamers.
The successful fund-raising initiative inspired by the pupils of Cooper & Jordan also engaged pupils from other local schools, including Whetstone Field Primary School, in a Fifa tournament bringing the schools to the attention of Saddlers players Jack Nolan and Nathan Sheron who supported the tournament.
It was great to see how the pupils shone a light on this issue and demonstrated that by using technological advances you can make gaming more accessible for all its users.
It was a pleasure to once again visit Cooper & Jordan School and commend them on their project.
