Walsall threw away a 2-0 half time lead at Rochdale to draw a game they should have lost after going 2-3 in time added on and grabbing a very late goal to finish all square !! If Walsall do survive the drop this season they will have done it the hard way. The number of drawn games now stands at nineteen which is a club record and only time will tell if these dropped points in drawn games the Saddlers should have won will have proved too costly.
Walsall had taken the lead through in-form Emmy Ledesma who picked his shot with a fine curling shot after 25 minutes. It got even better just before half time when a deflected shot from Ledesma took a deflection from the unlucky Joe Widdowson and looped into the net.
The second half saw Rochdale come into it and they piled on the pressure and forced upteen corners. On 66 minutes Dale got back in the game Akpa Akpro shot home from close range. In the 82nd minute Mat Sadler gave away a needless penalty which Michael Symes converted.
It was all the home side now who were looking very dangerous and came as no surprise when they took the lead in time added on through Akpro. Right from the kick off however captain Andy Butler sent in a looping header to save the game and break Rochdale's hearts.
