Following on from the successful  launch of her book 'Dark Days; Long Nights', which was hosted by Stafford based publishers Dream Well Writing in 2021, Black Country Author and Poet, Leanne Cooper, is continuing with her campaign to raise awareness of mental health problems, and raise money for the extremely worthy mental health charity, Mind.

So far, Leanne has raised just over £100 for Mind by selling copies of her latest book  - a candid collection of poetry which documents the realities of living with mental illness with the aim of ending the stigma which surrounds those who suffer with mental health disorders - and by setting up raffles to win copies of all 3 of her poetry collections, as well as a copy of Asleep at 3AM - the debut collection of fellow poet, and Leanne's partner, Anthony J Ball.

Leanne has struggled with her mental health since she was a teen, and isn't ashamed about speaking out about how this has affected her life, and how difficult it can be to navigate the highs and lows of living with Borderline Personality Disorder, as well as anxiety, depression, CPTSD, and OCD. Leanne feels that the more people who speak out about their own experiences the better, as this will end the fear of reaching out for help, and make people realise that there is no shame in feeling the effects of mental illness.

It is because of these reasons that this is a cause close to her heart, and something which Leanne feels strongly about; saying that if her writing resonates with even just one person, and gives them the courage to reach out, then it will all be worth it. Leanne chose to donate to Mind because of all that they do to help and support those who are struggling with their mental health. Services are not great at the moment, and many are severely underfunded, so the money is desperately needed in order to give people the care and services which will help them to face the dark times and ultimately get to a better place mentally.

If you would like to help raise funds, signed copies of 'Dark Days; Long Nights' can be purchased by contacting Leanne via Facebook ( www.facebook.com/leannecooper.author ), or regular copies can be purchased via Amazon. For every copy that is sold, 50% of the profits will be donated to Mind.
