On Saturday, the 22nd of June at 10.30 am, the Ahmadi Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) organised a family fun day and 5 kilometre run in the Walsall Arboretum. The event was open to all and the AMYA invited everyone to come and bring the family.
Attendes could look forward to amazing food stalls, 3 a side football, bouncy castles and much more to keep everyone entertained. Last year we had a great event and this year they wanted to share it with even more of people. Our preparations had gone well, and the AMYA put on an even more eventful and exciting day for all of our guests.
The event had another purpose. They are raising funds for two amazing charities Humanity First UK and Fairshare.
Humanity First UK does amazing work around the world, building hospitals, water wells, and providing emergency relief in those situations that it is needed most. Additionally, they have set up two foodbanks in the UK to help those suffering from the cost-of-living crisis, one of them being run right here in Walsall. Fairshare is a charity dedicated to cutting food waste in order to tackle hunger.
