At last walsall recorded their first away league of the season at Notts County thanks to a spirited performance. For the third successive visit Saddlers have come away from Meadow Lane with all three points and although it wasn't as empathic as last year's 5-1 effort manager Dean Smith was happy to settle for a 2-1 margin this time. So back to back wins for Walsall for the first time since March and real hope that walsall may have turned the corner.
Walsall took the lead thanks to an own goal via Gary Jones thanks to some fine work by Justin Cook and Tom Bradshaw. Notts clawed their way back into it in the second half thanks to in-form Garry Thompson but Walsall were not to be denied when Tom Bradshaw converted a penalty following a hand ball by a County defender.
