Dale is originally from Norwich, and moved to the area back in 1999 to study at Staffordshire University. Whilst that didn't go exactly to plan, he has stayed in Staffordshire ever since, and in recent years his travels have taken him into Walsall, where he was thrilled to discover a stunning poetry community. Dale has been writing for years now, mostly short stories and songs to begin with, and in 2017 he released his first collection of short stories, "The Green Cathedral" - a collection of contemporary fantasy stories that imagine the everyday world with a slight twist. It was whilst trying to find ways of promoting this book that Dale discovered the literary and poetry scene in Walsall - thanks mainly to the (sadly now closed) bookshop 'Southcart Books'. Regular exposure to the extremely talented poets that frequented the local poetry readings, Dale was tempted to try poetry himself, discovering he enjoyed it a lot more than he thought he would! In 2019, Dale released his first collection of poetry, "If I Were Not Me" - a loose collection of poems that shows his work over the past two years, and so far the response has been very positive. Dale continues to write poetry, and enjoys performing at local open mic poetry events. He has also been lucky enough to have pieces chosen for inclusion in a few poetry anthologies, including "Further Within Darkness and Light" released by Nothing Books, "Global Warning" released by There is No Planet B! and Burdizzo Bard's "Poems V1". Dale is currently putting the finishing touches to his second collection of short stories, "Bramble", which he hopes will be ready for release this summer, and has further pieces of short fiction and poetry coming out in future anthologies.
