Walsall completed a splendid comeback against Colchester United thanks to a spirited team performance in which Emmanuel Ledesma was terrific scoring one and making one. It was the visitors however who took the lead. The 'U's top scorer Anthony Wordsworth curled in a beauty giving David Grof no chance. Manny Smith was unlucky not to get Saddlers level when he rattled the bar with a header. Walsall did get the breakthrough on 38 mins thanks to Ledesma who scored direct from a free kick 25 yards out.
On 44 minutes Walsall were in front thanks to Mat Sadler who finally scored his first ever goal in his 222 nd career game! Walsall's third came following Ledesma's perfect ball for substitute George Bowerman to nod home in the 73rd minute. It was no more than the home side deserved and gives the team and the fans hope again.
