Harjit Singh, owner of the Nisa local in High Heath, Walsall, opened the High Heath Hub with the aim of developing the community spirit, tackling isolation and loneliness.  "It upset me  deeply to know that we lost over 100 dedicated members of the NHS", he said  "and all we  wanted to do was to be a helpful cog in the British fighting machine against COVID-19.  As a person of the Sikh faith I believes that all religions stem from compassion. My  family felt blessed with an opportunity to help those healthcare heroes who are delivering compassion and love day in and day out."

During the corona virus lockdown In Walsall Harjit and his team have:

(1) Donated £10,000 worth of free PPE to 50 healthcare providers across the area plus 1000 free masks to the NHS staff at Walsall Manor Hospital (Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust);

(2) Obtained over £110,000 worth of PPE at cost price to support NHS heroes, nursing homes and care providers with the support of Aldridge-Brownhills MP Wendy Morton;

(3) Worked with the Pioneer Magazine to publicise the new initiative to support the community.  The magazine were one of the sponsors and donated money to buy PPE for healthcare providers.

"A big thank you to the High Heath Hub" said Harjit "who did a fantastic job in organising the collections".
