We were delighted this week to see The Mayor of Walsall, Councillor Gary Clarke, work at three bestofwalsall businesses in support of St Giles Walsall Hospice.
A panel of judges considered all the entries in the novel ‘Mayor for Hire fundraising event’, organised in partnership with Addison O'Hare solicitors, and drew up an action-packed two day timetable for Councillor Gary Clarke.
On Tuesday morning, The Mayor visited Annettes Pram Shop, in Blakenhall (pictured 1st below) and helped serve customers and even leant how to fit a car seat into the Mayors car.
In the afternoon, The Mayor could be found washing, cutting and sweeping hair at Chatabox Hair and Beauty in Bloxwich (pictured 2nd below).
On Wednesday, he visited Simply Sandwich on the Broadway, Walsall, helping prepare sandwiches and engage with customers (pictured 3rd below)
The Mayor also visited a range of other local businesses and his other duties included despatching goods, managing the town's bus station and going back to school to serve up lunch!
