Balbir Seimar BEM is the Chief World Against Single Use Plastic Community Engagement and development Ambassador and she is the Secretary of the Hindu Forum in Walsall.
Balbir continues to inspire and support the community. Litter picking, collecting & dropping surplus food from some supermarkets, replenishing foodbanks, just to mention a few. Balbir was honoured to be amongst, one of the two thousand to be invited to Westminster Abbey for King Charles III Coronation on 5th May 2023. She said, "The Ceremony for me, was a very spiritual moment. The music was incredible and it was wonderful to see our diverse community inside the Abbey at this auspicious ceremony." Once inside the beautiful, majestic Westminster Abbey, everyone was buzzing. Meeting Lord, Dames, Sirs, Heads of State, Prime Minister, TV Personalities along with many celebrities, everywhere you looked, it looked regal. She shared a private moment with with Dame Judi Dench. and of course a selfie is a must have! She said it was an exciting, amazing day albeit tiring because some of the marshals were not able to direct the public. Balbir was awarded BEM, in the 2021 The Queen's New Year's Honours List in January 2021 for her outstanding selfless service.
