Walsall had earlier signed Andy Taylor on a non-contract basis and slotted in for James Chambers at full back. QPR gave Walsall the respect they deserved and fielded a strong side.Taylor found himself up against Shaun Wright-Phillips but wasn't over awed at all and coped with most he had to offer. However the former Chelsea striker did score with a low drive to put the hosts in front before half time.
There were further second half goals from Bobby Zamora and Jose Bosingwa however Wigg Grigg's header just after half time that hit the wookwork was a reminder to QPR that Walsall were looking to breakthrough at every opportunity. Saddlers had plenty of attacking play but try as hard as they did, couldn't produce a goal.
