Cheryl Ann Boot is kick starting 2025 with many new opportunities to continue to bring the community together through her inspirational work in creative writing and spoken word poetry.
As a regular face at The New Art Gallery Walsall, Cheryl will, once again this year, present her ekphrastic poetry in response to two pieces of art work by David McGuire and Denise Bower. The first poem entitled “where is my world?” Focuses on a moment of reflection in a peaceful environment whilst questioning the actions of others.
The second poem is called “if only you knew” and is a deep voice empowering others to consider thinking ahead before judging others, as they may have valid reasons for their actions.

Cheryl will then turn her attention to the younger audience partaking in the Literature Festival at Walsall College, attending as a published author and will be sharing her journey to help connect younger minds to English and Literature, beyond the classroom. Cheryl is an avid speaker who captures the hearts and minds of the younger generation and with 5 star feedback, has been known to make a positive difference in local schools and colleges.
Shortly after, Cheryl will be taking the stage once more alongside Walsall Writers Circle at the 2025 Wolverhampton Literature Festival performing spoken word poetry and readings on the theme “taking the stage”. The circle have collaboratively published their latest book “Words from Walsall” which features some of the work performed at the 2024 Wolverhampton Literature Festival on the theme of the Black Country.
Cheryl’s professional life within medicine and healthcare has been combined with her creative side this month and attended a workshop with Wolverhampton’s ‘care, create and conserve’ project of which she will be submitting a poetic interpretation of the artefacts of our history in healthcare and medicine.
Cheryl doesn’t stop there in the community, she also devotes her time to her radio show ‘The Cheryl Ann Boot Show – Black Country Radio Xtra’. Featuring some truly inspiring guest is from and around the midlands, giving people the chance to tell their stories and shine amidst all of the negative stories we hear daily. This platform enables others to see the positive impact our local community do. During January, guests include Anna Goodwin, founder of a bereavement cafe, Thomas Janak, an incredibly talented healer and with a long list of line ups, the Cheryl Ann Boot Show, is truly the link for local people by local people.
