Over the last 5 years, Leanne Cooper has become a well known name on the poetry scene, having performed across Stafford and the West Midlands many times since her debut to the world of performance poetry in 2017. Since then, Leanne has been published both online and in print for several anthologies, as well as releasing 3 of her own independently published poetry collections, appearing on both BBC WM and Hope radio Birmingham more than once, and being short listed to the final 3 applicants for the prestigious role of Wolverhampton's first ever Poet Laureate back in 2020.

Last year, Leanne was one of several writers to be selected to appear in the short story anthology 'Born in a Black Cab' which was put together and published by up-and-coming publishers C.A.A.B Publishing. The submission guidelines stated that the setting of these stories must be the inside a black cab taxi. Leanne's story 'The Escape' delivered a unique, yet chilling take on this, leaving readers with a shock ending that was certainly unexpected.

C.A.A.B Publishing have recently released their second anthology 'One More for the Road' in January of this year, and yet again Leanne's work has been successfully chosen, with her devastatingly emotional story 'A Kiss for Good Luck' featuring in this collection - more evidence that Leanne can turn her hand to different areas of writing with ease and talent.

Leanne is currently working on several projects, including the release of 3 children’s books which will be illustrated by talented local artist and illustrator, Jennifer Gayle, of Urban Duck Illustrations, and released individually over the next 2 years. Leanne is also set to be at Stafford Lit Fest this May, representing the Lost Haiku project as part of a Haiku workshop alongside fellow poet Gabriella Gay.
