Bert Flitcroft (Staffords Poet Laureate 2015-17) has three collections of poetry published: ‘Singing Puccini at the kitchen sink’, ‘Thought-apples’, and ‘JUST ASKING’.

He has been Poet in Residence at the Southwell Poetry Festival, the Wedgwood Collection at the V&A, and with the prestigious R.I.B.A exhibition ‘The Road Less Travelled’. He has performed at national festivals including Edinburgh International Book Festival, Birmingham, Lichfield, Ilkley, Stoke, Buxton, and has read at The Door at The Birmingham Rep, as well as the CBSO Centre and The Conservatoire in Birmingham, and recently as part of the University of Keele project ‘Labelling the Museum’.

Bert’s latest poetry collection ‘JUST ASKING’ endorsed by Daljit Nagra (BBC Radio 4) Jonathan Edwards (Faber and Faber, Costa Prize winner) and multi-award winning, Roger Elkin. This was described as “poems that grab you by the scruff of the neck and drag you into their world…”, but we are just asking him to stick to non-contact sport for Spoke!
