A local band is performing at The Crossing at St Paul’s Church in Walsall on 23rd September.
“Creative Walsall is a unique collaboration of Fine Artists and local poets” explained Alan Garwood, guitarist from the band Dog Town Jack “and we want to be part of it.”
Dog Town Jack is an original music duo based in Walsall. The duo is made up of vocalist Carmen Bascunana and guitarist Alan Garwood. Their musical interests include classic country and pop, jazz/blues and medieval murder ballads.
" Walsall Society of Artists and local poets are setting up an exhibition on 19th September at The Crossing” said Alan “with a launch on 21st September. It’s free of charge. On Saturday 23rd September we will be performing at The Crossing and we’re excited!”
Since Dog Town Jack’s inception in September 2023 Carmen and Alan have written and compiled a copious repertoire of songs. Four songs are included on the duo’s new EP for which video and photographic footage was completed at St Matthew’s Church. The shoot was directed in the historic church crypt with photographer Phil Buckley behind the lens.
“Massive thanks to John Edlin and Nigel Dutton for enabling the session” said Alan.
Dog Town Jack have recently taken part in a Voices from the Fountain evening with local poets. They enjoy cross - collaborations. “Mingling different art forms tends to enrich the total experience” explained Alan.
“Other information - no special dietary requirements and dog - friendly” laughed Alan Garwood. “See you at The Crossing on Saturday 23rd September!”
