Although I drive past The Village Hotel & Leisure Club in Walsall most days (Junction  10, M6), I have never had the pleasure of dining there.

We recently held a bestofwalsall business network event where they catered for 100 people, the food was so impressive that we decided to try out the restaurant.

The Hotel has a variety of dining options including the Victory Pub and Verve Grill restaurant (there is even a Starbucks Cafe for when you want to grab a coffee and cake).

The Victory Pub has a relaxed and informal environment ideal for catching up with friends over a drink and some good pub grub. Live sports and events are also shown inside the pub.

The Verve Grill where we dined had a fresh and contemporary feel. The restaurant prides itself on its great steaks and perfect wines. The menu certainly has something for everyone and included gourmet burgers, salads, pasta and a wide selection of steaks, grills and specials.

We shared the hot rocks skewers to start that come served on a hot stone where you can cook to your liking. A really fun experience and food at its freshest!

For main course I had the Lemon Herb Grilled Chicken and my partner had the Fillet Steak. Both dishes came beautifully presented with a great selection of accompaniments.

Unfortunately, we were too full for desserts however I did sneak a peak and the Chocolate Fudge Cake and Ice cream looked delicious!

Aside from the fantastic food, what really made our experience so enjoyable was the friendly and attentive staff where nothing was too much trouble for them. This was so refreshing to see as great customer service in restaurants is often hard to find.

My partner and I were so impressed with the food that we have planned to return next weekend.
