The works started back in January of this year and have caused nothing but choas since, as they resulted in the closure of the Junction 9 slip road on to the M6 at Wednesbury. But finally after 12 months the roadworks are set for completition on December 18th... if bad weather doesn't interfere!
Highways England spokesperson, Alistair Harris, said: "We are hoping to get this work finished by Christmas, and are currently aiming to complete by December 18.”
Current diversions for the M6 Junction 9 Southbound on-slip closure take motorists on the local road network to M5 Junction 1 and to M6 Junction 7, which has caused heavy congestion in Walsall and Wednesbury.
So it looks like the answers to all of our prayers might have finally been heard as the M6 roadworks misery will come to an end next month.
