Walsall's favourite finch lovin’ space funk absurdists Martian Social Club are gearing up for their keenly anticipated performance at Walsall s upcoming inaugural literary festival, the Walsall Festival of Words.
“We are honoured to have been asked to play. We always believed words to be one of the better forms of communication and see a great future for them”
Sage words from their singer and guitarist Al Monde. The band were to be seen recently performing at the Raising Steam Festival in Bromsgrove alongside a host of eccentric acts to raise money for disadvantaged children in Nepal and their performance was warmly received.
The band present a wildly eclectic and entertaining romp through Al’s mildly deranged psyche featuring odes’ to several species of freshwater fish, the romantic prowess of Black Country men ,and family trips to the sewage farm amongst other worthy topics.
See them perform on the Bandstand in Walsall's iconic Arboretum on Thursday 9th as part of Walsalls Festival of Words.
