The new Major of Walsall, Gary Clarke, announced his plans to help support Walsall Hospice over the next 12 months to raise vital funds for their new Palliative care centre that is due to open Autumn 2010.
The Major of Walsall spoke about his pride after receiving the robes and chains for the next 12 months and said it was a great priviledge and honour.
Outgoing Major John O'Hare helped raise around £30,000 for blind and deaf charities in Walsall over the past 12 months.
