I had the opportunity of checking out the New Menu at the Village Hotel at Junction 10 this week.
Ben Thomas the General Manager explained that Village Group had taken on a New Executive Chef Keith Shearer formerly with Mal Mamaison to create the menu.
The menu in The Victory Pub and Kitchen is located in the hotel, is based on Great British Classics with all of the dishes freshly prepared and made on the premises ,even including their own Home Made Pork Scratchings!
The dishes will suit all tastes from snacks, sandwiches, flat breads, burgers, ackets and also a range of British Classics from Steak and Kidney Pudding, Beer Batter Fish and Chips (both with mushy peas) to Mutton Masala.
They are also keen to promote Local and have an Excellent Blond Beer by local Brewers the Backyard Brewery.
As I was on a diet I went for the Caesar Salad which was excellent - Crisp Lettuce, Fresh Chicken, Anchovies, Great Sauce and loads of Croutons. So much for the diet! Looking around the Pub all the dishes I saw looked appetising, generous portions and served with a twist, some on wooden platters.
I understand that the Verve Grill is also launching a new menu, which if based on my positive experience should also be worth a try.
Its also great to see a National business engaging with the local community and speaking to Ben he and his staff are passionate to work and support the local community. In fact he was telling me that The Village at Walsall have nominated St Giles Hospice in Goscote as their main charity this year and is keen to raise as much money as possible for this most worthy cause.
To that end he is hosting A Great British Street Party which will take place on Sunday 3rd June at the Hotel. The event will have free entry and all proceeds going to St Giles Hospice. Click here to find out more about this event
If you get chance why not experience either the Pub or Grill. I am sure you will not be disappointed.
