Willenhall Rotary have been very busy recently supporting the Lock Stock Festival in Willenhall Memorial Park as well as making a sizeable donation to the charity Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.  The support for the charity was in memory of Adrian Rowley, who joined the Club in 1990 and was a popular member of the Club for the next 17 years including becoming Club President.  Adrian wanted to support this worthwhile charity but sadly died before he could take on another Presidency in 2017/18.  Out of respect for Adrian it was decided to continue with his request to support Guide Dogs and, to this end, the Club sponsored a puppy at the cost of £2,500.   The puppy is named "Rowlie" in memory of Adrian Rowley.  The puppy is female, hence the different spelling of the name. The Rotary Club of Willenhall is being informed of Rowlie`s progress leading up to the moment she is fully grown and trained before being allocated to someone who she will assist and help to improve their life for years to come.   "The Rotary organisation in general is a huge supporter of the Guide Dogs for the Blind", said current Club President Peter Williams "and we are delighted to play our part at Willenhall.  The sponsorship of Rowlie is in the memory of Adrian, a much loved and active member of our Club for 17 years and he would have been delighted with this outcome".   Willenhall Rotary have also been active at the Fun day and Fair on Essington on the Willenhall Rugby Union ground and raising money on Walsall Market selling crockery and general oddments for the Rotary charity End Polio Now designed to help eradicate this crippling disease from the world.
