Walsall headed for Oldham after their enforced two week winter week looking to grab a victory to lift some of the relegation gloom which overs over the club but fell behind after just one minute and thirteen seconds as Keanu Marsh-Brown outpaced Lee Beevers and found Robbie Simpson who in turn found Filipe Morais who made no mistake shooting high to give David Grof, standing in for the injured Jimmy Walker, no chance.
On loan starlet Florent Cuveller hit a post for Saddlers in a rare raid on the home defence however just on the half hour mark Oldham doubled their lead after Moraise centred for Simpson who out foxed captain Andy Butler to fire home.
Walsall improved a bit in the second half and got back into the game and 17 minutes before full time Cuveller hit a thirty five yarder to delight the 101 Walsall fans. In time added on Alex Nicholls had the chance to draw his team level, be he had his spot kick saved. So very annoying....
