In the build-up to Bonfire Night, on Sunday November 3rd, poetry night Yes We Cant brings its own brand of fireworks to Walsall when Birmingham poet Lorna Meehan headlines at the Pretty Bricks. Lorna is a hugely accomplished poet and playwright, and an outstanding and engaging performer you really don’t want to miss.
The ‘Alf Ender slot will be taken by Worcester poet John Lawrence, who’s dry, witty, and very accomplished. Open-mic spots are available on the door, as always, but get there early if you want one – they get snapped up fast! There’ll also be a very special announcement about a future event you’re really going to want to put in your diaries. More details about that on the night!
Entry to the event is – as always – free, although the organisers do ask for donations when you leave so they can pay the headline act. Doors are at 7pm, and the night’s done and dusted by 9.30pm. Come and enjoy a friendly and relaxed evening showcasing the very best in contemporary poetry!
