After recent incidents involving bogus traders scamming pensioners out of hundreds of pounds, Walsall police are now issuing a warning.
The first incident happened on October 9th between 12:30pm - 13:00pm at an address in Lawley Close, Shelfield.
A man who claimed to be working for Walsall Housing Group tricked an elderly homeowner into letting him into the home. He then starting searching the home for 'keys', when he found a large amount of money and left in a white van.
The homeowner described the man as white, over 6ft with a stocky build and a Midlands accent.
Another house in Aldridge was targeted the same day, this time with the scammer claiming to be from the council. He said he was attending the house due to complaints about rats in the area and stated that he need £250 for pest control costs.
This man was described as between 5ft8ins and 6ft, in his 40's, of a heavy build, wearing dark jeans, navy jacket, and bobble type hat.
Police believe the 2 men could be linked and anyone with information should contact them on 101
