Professor Gatrad OBE was delighted to be presented with the National David Middleton Sustainability Award.
There were 3 runners up. Tony McNally who has been actively campaigning for action on climate change for nearly 30 years. Lynsey Melville, Professor of Environmental Engineering at BCU who leads the Biotechnology and Environmental Engineering research group and David Horsfall who has been a pioneer in his contribution to the net zero transition of the City of Birmingham The main award is based on a ‘Drop of Water’. David Middleton had highlighted the impact of climate change on the supply of fresh water in many parts of the world. Director of Energy and Programme Management Paul Dockerill at whg said: 'The David Middleton Sustainability Award was presented to recognise and encourage similar passion, enthusiasm, and outstanding commitment to sustainable development. The work Professor Gatrad OBE, Lynsey Melville, Tony McNally and David Horsfall is inspirational and reflects the diversity and influence on climate change and acts as a beacon to the significant task ahead.”Presenter Black Country Radio & Black Country Xtra
