Traders in Caldmore have hailed the dawn of a new era for commerce and enterprise after the community was granted village status.
Chairman of Caldmore Traders Association (CTA), Ali Mahmood, united members in celebration this week as dozens of local business men and women joined him to embrace the new title.
Mr Mahmood, who established CTA to represent the views of local traders and residents, said pride and aspiration has been restored to Caldmore.
"I have been leading the campaign for Caldmore to achieve village status for a number of years so I am delighted all the hard work has paid off," he said.
"But this would not have been achieved without the support of Traders Association members, members of the local business community and Caldmore residents.
"It will ignite the local community and stir a real passion and pride. Now when people say Caldmore Village they feel good about where they work and where they live."
On Monday Land Registry office confirmed it now officially recognises Caldmore Village.
