Walsall recorded only their second away win of 2011 in what turned out to eventually be a comfortable 2-0 victory at Dean Court, Bournemouth although it could have been different if the hosts would have taken a couple of early changes including a goal bound header which was headed clear by Darryl Westlake. It took The Saddlers a while to get into their stride but thanks to a typical darting Mat Sadler run he won his side a penalty.
Ryan Jarvis, only playing because Jon Macken was out injured, tucked away his penalty well to give The Saddlers confidence. Bournemouth had the odd chance but Walsall keeper David Grof, making his debut as Jimmy Walker was at his child's birth, produced one good save to keep the lead for his side as they went into half time.
There was also a change at centre back for this game with manager Dean Smith throwing Manny Smith in for Oliver Lancashire and he did very well on his recall and never put a foot wrong. Walsall got their all important second goal when Jarvis headed home to give the Walsall travelling fans a happy journey home.
