Walsall drew a blank in their 0-0 bore-draw against Rochdale at the Banks's Stadium but at least it was another point in the bag as The Saddlers continue to try and pull clear in the bottom reaches of League One. Walsall had striker Jon Macken out injured and Matt Gill had been recalled by Norwich. Walsall drafted in Jason Price and Will Grigg.
Rochdale were an in-form team travelling down to the West Midlands but like Walsall seemed devoid of many ideas. The first half was a non-event. Price missed a sitter on the edge of the six yard box. Grigg fired over for Walsall from about 12 yards and Richard Taundry wasted a good chance with a wayward header.
The visitors came out of their sheel after the break. Craig Dawson-on loan from West Brom-headed over the bar from a corner and Matty Done also headed wide. The remainder of the half slipped by without incident with defences well on top.
