Wednesday 13th November, 7:30pm   (Doors open at 7:00)

The Lamp, Brownhills Community Centre

Chester Road North, Brownhills, Walsall, WS8 7JW

A great, friendly, spoken word open mic evening at Brownhills Community Centre in The Lamp theatre space. Open to all, whether you come to see the performances or to join in.  Local writers and poets especially welcome.

This month’s feature artist is very much a local legend. Billy Spakemon, from Oldbury, after a spell as a footballer at Swindon Town FC, returned to the Black Country and has risen to dizzy academic heights as a Visiting Research Fellow at Aston University.

He sings, recites, and relates wondrous local tales as if he’s done it forever.  His writing and performances in dialect are to be savoured, as listeners to his programme on Black Country Radio will be aware. He is also an Ambassador for The Black Country Bugle.

Try not to miss this star performance from Billy Spakemon.
