Spoke in the Lamp - March, with Emily Rose Galvin
9th March 2020
... Comments

A great, spoken word open mic event on the last Wednesday of each month at Brownhills Community Centre in the Lamp theatre space.

Open to all. Local writers and poets especially welcome. Audiences loved.

This is a friendly, open mic, spoken word evening for local and not so local writers/poets... with a featured poet each month and a little music.

This month’s featured artist :

 *** Emily Rose Galvin ***

Emily Rose, the first female Staffordshire Poet Laureate, co-founder of Spoken Word night WordCraft and current Poet in Residence for Lichfield Library, performs regularly across the UK, and last year became one of the National Trust's commissioned poets for the 2019 People's Landscapes Project.

With a raw and emotive style, she focuses on intimate experience to tackle subjects such as mental health, personal growth and the complications of human relationships.

Her latest poetry pamphlet, “The Dew Point” is available for less than the price of a Costa Latte.

Free parking at the back via Pelsall Road entrance.

Email to reserve a slot for your own poetry/prose/spoken word or potluck for available slots to be had on the door.

New readers are very welcome to come or just to enjoy the evening.
