The Nativity - A community theatre retelling of the nativity story The Nativity is a new adaptation of the story of the birth of Jesus, as told in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke.
This community theatre production takes the story back to the basics, the shepherds are labourers who don’t wear dressing gowns; the Magi are figures of authority; Herod is a frustrated vassal of Rome; Mary and Joseph are a young couple facing enormous responsibility.
The Nativity is a St Matthew’s Walsall production and is written by Jimm Rennie, composed by Andrew Clayton, and directed by Jimm Rennie and Michael Clayton.
