Another pair of socks this Christmas? Bored of getting board games? Why not donate your unwanted gifts to Acorns Children’s Hospice shops and help families across the Black Country and Walsall.
Acorns is appealing for seasonal supporters to help refresh stock at the charity’s Black Country and Walsall shops ready for the new year by donating unwanted Christmas presents.
Gary Pettit, Director of Retail at Acorns, said: “By donating your unwanted gifts to Acorns ‘yule’ not only be giving them a new lease of life, instead of gathering dust at the back of the shelf, you’ll be showing your support for local children and families.”
Acorns needs £27,000 per day to provide its care and support services, with the charity’s network of shops across the West Midlands playing a key part in helping to raise those funds.
Acorns shops in Black Country and Walsall include:
· Blackheath, High Street
· Bloxwich, High Street
· Codsall, Wolverhampton Road
· Dudley, High Street
· Halesowen, High Street
· Kingswinford, Market Street
· Perton, Perton District Shopping Centre
· Walsall, Victorian Arcade
· Wednesbury, Union Street
Gary added: “There’s no time like the ‘present’ to declutter your home and donate your unwanted gifts to one of our Acorns shops.
“You might even need to clear space on your shelves or in your wardrobe for the presents you love. So why not donate your preloved items too? By doing so you’ll be helping us continue providing our vital children’s hospice care.”
Acorns Children’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care for life limited and life threatened children and support for their families from its three hospices, based in Birmingham, Walsall and Worcester, and in the community.
In the past year the charity has cared for more than 700 children and almost 1,000 families, including those who are bereaved.
Anyone who would like to donate their unwanted Christmas presents can take them along to their local Acorns shop.
