A local business owner’s top fundraising idea will benefit Walsall stroke patients.
Company Director Shan Budesha, who owns Walsall’s Top Marques, arranges insurance for business owners.
And Shan is now helping to support Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust’s charity appeal to create a community rehabilitation garden.
The appeal aims to transform the grounds of Hollybank House in Short Heath to include a potting area, sensory spot and seating area for stroke rehabilitation patients, their visitors and staff to use.
The 51-year-old father-of-two has decided to contribute a percentage of his commission to Well Wishers charity from every new business insurance policy taken out by Best of Walsall members - this way members can help fundraise for Best of Walsall’s charity of the year.
Shan said: “I wanted to do this to help Well Wishers raise funds for either equipment it needs to purchase or to help make a difference to someone who needs support.
“It would be a privilege for us to support a local charity that's doing great work in the local community and making a difference to people’s lives.”
Fundraising Manager Georgie Westley said: “A huge thank you to Shan, this is such a great idea to help raise funds for our project which needs around £20,000.
“The fact that this will be coming out of Shan’s own pocket really shows what a kind and genuine person he is. He has always gone out his way to support our charity, including a huge charity ball that Top Marques organised a number of years ago (pictured above). We are so grateful for his continued support.”
