Walsall could only draw 1-1 with Yeovil Town in a performance which was somewhat flat following the inspired performance for most of the previous game at Sheffield United. Its becoming a bit of a trend now for The Saddlers to take the lead in league matches. At Hartlepool, Sheffield and now last Saturday the team have been ahead in those games but instead of going on to take maximum points have only picked up two points from nine in those games.
Walsall took the lead thanks to an excellent finish from Jon Macken after 19 minutes from 20 yards as he cut in and planted a beauty into the corner. But the way the defence allowed Gavin Williams to level things suggested that again there is cause for concern and Walsall don't want to concede too many goals like this.
There were chances for Darryl Westlake and substitute Ryan Jarvis in the second half but it was simply a case of two valuable home points tossed away.
