I very much welcome the review launched into the current plan to close Aldridge Police Station which has been announced by West Midlands Police Chief Constable, Sir David Thompson.
I have been very clear from the outset; the plan to close Aldridge Station is reckless and it will sever the link between the community and the police. I am meeting with the Police and Crime Commissioner in the next few weeks and I will be making this point to him directly.
I will of course be keep my constituents updated.
