Willenhall Chart as successfully secured £1,600 from the Police & Crime Commissioner Community Iniative Fund to provide a "Community Fridge" for the community to benefit from.
The project will link with local businesses who will help support the initiative and reduce food waste.
A community fridge is a refrigerator located in a public space and are a type of mutual aid that enables food to be shared within a community. Anyone can put food in and take food out with the main aim of community fridge to reduce food insecurity, while also mitigating food waste giving easy access to fresh, nutritious food.
The "Community Fridge" project will launch in the next couple of weeks so please keep an eye on our Facebook page for further information.
