Craig Westcarr was both hero and villan in the clash between Walsall and Shrewsbury town. He got the only goal of the game after five minutes which was well taken. Walsall created plenty of worthwhile attacks in the first half but couldn't produce any more goals. Our visitors had full back Mills sent off after the break but even more controversial was the exit of Westcarr. He took a nasty challenge which wasn't even seen as a foul and later needed seven stitches to his ankle as a result of this. Whilst he was down receiving treatment something was said by Sam Foley which made Westcarr react and he promptly got sent off. The game was in the ballance the longer it went on but Saddlers hung on to record another victory.
