Walsall returned to winning ways with a well earned 2-1 home win over Sheffield United, coming back from being a goal down in very wet and windy conditions. It was Chris Porter who gave the Blades the lead and Saddlers were not having too many chances in that first half. The second half was quite different, however. Walsall came more into their own and won a pentaly soon after the break after Andy Butler had been fouled in the box. Walsall grew in confidence thereafter and it came as no surprise when Walsall made it 2-1. the goal scorer was a surprise- 33 year old James Chambers who had previously not scored a league goal in his entire career! Such was Walsall's presure they could have scored a few more. With no game due to Oldham being still in the FA Cup Walsall had a few days off from the hectic festival period and a chance to get over the knocks and bups sustained recently.
As someone who is passionate about all thats going on in and around Walsall I hope that you find the topics I raise are informative and thought provoking.
