Last Saturday was an historic day in the history of Walsall FC as it was their 125th birthday. There was also a big game to look forward to with promotion- chasing Sheffield United coming to town. It was hoped that The Saddlers would record a win to boost their chances of cementing a play off position. Walsall played well enough during this game to suggest they can continue to this end however the final result - a 1-1 draw - did not produce the desired result but you couldn't fault the players for their workrate and skill. Walsall took the lead just before half time thanks to the inform Craig Westcarr. Walsall were looking good value for a win then Chris Porter was so lucky for the visitors when his shot hit both posts before going in to the back of the net. A cruel way indeed for Walsall to be denied the three points. Saddlers had a few good chances including a couple for Febian Brandy but it was not to be. So Walsall had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
