A Walsall dental practice has been named as a finalist in awards that recognise local companies’ contribution to apprenticeships.
Midlands-based training provider, Performance through People, shortlisted Allsopp & Associates Dental Practice for the sought-after title in its annual achievement awards for the practice’s inspirational, people-focused culture.
Helen Dickson, a training adviser at PTP, nominated Allsopp & Associates for demonstrating a long-term commitment to employing apprentices and providing outstanding support for them.
Gill Durkin, Business Development Director at Performance through People commented: “We feel it’s really important to acknowledge the dedication of our partner employers who give so much to ensure an enriching experience for their apprentices.
“The quality of an apprenticeship hinges on the partnership between training provider and employer and we are extremely fortunate to have enthusiastic and forward-thinking companies like Allsopp & Associates working with us.
“Dr Allsopp and all of his staff are committed to the apprenticeship programme, providing excellent support and in-house training from qualified employees. The feedback from apprentices is that they feel motivated to learn and achieve, included as part of the team and well supported in their job roles.”
Rebecca Docherty, practice manager at Allsopp & Associates said: “We’re thrilled to be shortlisted for this award.
“PTP has helped us develop and grow our business and we wouldn’t work with any other training provider.
“We very often have two or three apprentices here at a time working towards a dental nursing qualification and it speaks volumes that we have offered every PTP apprentice a full-time position on completion of their training.
“PTP also help us continue staff development with its additional courses, from first aid to management training.”
The PTP annual achievement awards are now in their third year. Winners will be announced at a glitzy awards ceremony at The Village Hotel Walsall on Thursday 15th February. Head nurse, Sarah Sturgess, and management team member Katie Fahey will represent Allsopp & Associates at the event.
Rebecca added: “Whatever the outcome on the night, we’re excited to be a part of it and look forward to our continued relationship with PTP.”
