Paul O`Connor (pictured), who runs Sparta krav Maga in Brownhills, Walsall and Aldridge, travelled to Israel recently for an intense grading assessment by the International Krav Maga Federation for 9 days. The grading included a crash camp of skills where Paul had to survive 100 fights in 100 minutes.
"It was an honour to have been trained by the best in the world at the International Krav Maga Federation crash camp" explained Paul O`Connor.
The International Krav Maga Federation is the world`s largest and most active Krav Maga organisation founded 20 years ago in Israel and based in over 50 countries. Krav Maga is a self defence system that is taught to the military, police officers and civilians around the world.
Krav Maga is today widely recognised as the number 1 self defence system in the world. Today Krav Maga is used by security forces including the FBI as well as in VIP protection, anti terrorism and men, women and children of all ages.
"I met up with experts from all over the world" said Paul O`Connor "who came to train and grade in Krav Maga techniques. There were experts from Hong Kong, ther USA, Germany, South Africa, Malta, Spain and too many countries to mention all coming to train with the top Global Instructor Team of the International Krav Maga Federation in Israel. It is a family thing - the IKMF family".
Paul was assessed at Graduate Level 2 of the Krav Maga syllabus which are the advanced skills of self defence including dealing with complicated situations. Paul had previously passed all 5 levels of the Practitioner levels which are the core of the system. Training also improves fitness, strength, flexibility and mental determination.
"It was great meeting up with my Krav Maga family, old and new" said Paul "namely the instructors and students from all over the world. I passed my Graduate 2 Level grading. Now that I`m back in Walsall I want to pass on my training to the Walsall community".
